Deja Vu Venezuelan Food

Founded by a Venezuelan family, Deja Vu is a locally owned food truck that offers authentic Venezuelan cuisine. Along with the delicious menu, the establishment also offers beautiful scenery and great music.

Served with love

Owner Joan Quiva takes pride in their chicha, a traditional drink. Feasting together, familles from all over the area come out to get the Deja Vu experience. Is a heaven in your mouth the only way to describe their popular menu Item Pepito. Setting the scene pictured is the earthy outdoors seating at the food truck.

A new experience

Regardless of whatever part of the world you come from, food is the one thing that brings everyone of all cultures together. Every culture has its own signature dishes and unique flavors. Deja Vu brings Venezuelan cuisine right to Thomasville Road. “We were attracted to Tallahassee and its community, its a small city but the vegetation and the climate is amazing. Not only that but the community is a very friendly and has great hospitality.” Joan Quiva tells us, the owner of the food truck.

Our passion

The family owned and operated food truck was established in January of 2021, and ever since tons of families come out to experience the authenticity of the food, music and taste of Venezuelan culture.

Our mission is not only to offer food for the Venezuelan community but to everyone. And what better way to bring people together than food?

We has always had a chef or two under the roof. My wife and I love to cook and we wanted to take advantage if our love for cooking by opening a place that can bring happiness to the community and to be owners of our business.

The scenery at Déjà Vu is simplistic and cozy. It reminds you of having a picnic at the park with your family on a Saturday afternoon. It quite literally gives you déjà vu. The sense of nostalgia you get just upon arrival inspired the name. Dejavú means a feeling of having already experienced the present situation.

We wanted to bring to the Venezuelan community in town the traditional flavors of our country that they already had in the past and could have been forgotten so they could relive the moment of remembering the flavors they had in Venezuela. We also wanted to bring those flavors to children who come from Venezuelan families.

We have been able to give people who come from our home town a place where they feel like a home with the music, hospitality and the food.

We have had multiple customers give comments about how they feel like they are at home remembering the flavors and we have told them they just had a Deja Vu.

Growning family

Beginning of 2023, Dejavu had the honor of working with a wonderful family like the Carranza’s. The Carranza family have been giving their all by fully supporting the Dejavu dream. Nicolas and Carianna Carranza have benefited the business and strengthened ties between families through their diligent and sincere labor. Both families are excited and eager to discover what Dejavu’s future holds.

Introduce your tastebuds to something new while emerging yourself in Venezuelan culture. It truly is unforgettable.
